Почтовые ящики, фонарные столбы, школьные двери - он зарисовывает все, до чего дотягивается. Много торчит на улице, находит yard-ы и быстро понимает логику граффити: пусть твое имя будет везде, пусть весь city говорит только о тебе! You hear the name all over. You hear it on radio, the television and see him while playing your Xbox.

COPE2, the name is associated with royalty in the Graff game. A true King whose been holding it down for several decades.

COPE2 finds himself in an interesting position. While many writers have failed to reap financial rewards from Graffiti, COPE2 finds himself receiving the accolades and financial success that isn’t associated with the careers of writers. He has made a living from Graff, and it is his profession.

I caught up with the King and exchanged words with him. He wasn’t reserved, but chose to discuss everything from beef, projects, accusations that he is a snitch, the haters, the current game, fucking people up, the cops, personal relationships, and life.

Theory: Give us a brief description of your background? Where you live. How old you are.

Zephyr: I've lived in New York City all my life. I'm 39 years young.

Theory: How did you first get introduced into Graffiti? When did you do your first real piece?

Zephyr: I did my first piece in'75 or thereabout. I started writing "Zephyr" in '77.

Theory: Who are some of the old skool people that you used to go out with and do you still keep in contact with any of them?

Zephyr: Yes. I still hang with my graff partner from the old days, REVOLT. We've been painting together for over twenty years. A lot of old New York writers are still active..IZ, SEEN, BLADE and many others.

When did you first start writing then, was it a case of evolving from scratching on school tables or just being a straight up childhood tare-away?

I first got into graffiti when the Hip Hop culture first hit Britain back in 84. Films (Beat Street, Wild Style etc), Books (Subway Art, Gettin Up) were all the rage and the scene soon developed. Breakdancing, Graffiti, DJ'ing, MC'ing was the latest craze and nearly every kid in the city (Manchester) was involved.

How did the name come about, was it just nice lettering?

I first started writing DJ SONIC but chose the word KEL (subway Art) and put a ZO on the end as my mate wrote RIDZO.

Non-graf heads just can’t understand the fondness verging on adoration graf-heads feel for Seen, he is featured heavily in both Subway Art and Stylewars: the 2 most referenced texts of graffiti history. I wasn’t surprised to see several London writers I knew before and after the interview, popping in to pay their respects, get their copies of Subway Art signed, just see the man himself on his first visit to the U.K. Damn it, I seriously felt honoured to be doing this interview… and I ain’t too proud to admit I brought my 15 year old copy of Subway Art to be signed too!

Gkae- Five times now, this being the longest. I've done 16 months so far, and I just started a three-year term.

Q- How do you feel about the fact that a rapist got a lighter sentence than you did on the same day?

Gkae- I didn't know that, but it doesn't suprise me; people feel threatened by graffiti, because they don't understand it. When the judge handed me three years he said,"...you don't have one victim you have tens of thousands of victims that have to see your graffiti on their way to work."

Bomb: How and when did you get into graffiti?

Hesh: I first started doing graffiti in 85. I was impressed by two guys in my neighborhood who did a lot of tags and throw ups. So I wanted to do what they were doing... a week later the whole hood was bombed with my tags. One day I found a message on a graffiti wall that those two guys wanted to meet me so I went to meet them. They were fucking cool so we built a crew to bomb the whole town.Daim: I first photographed graffiti in mid 89 and then made my first script following the photos, which I sprayed together with two friends. -Es vairs neesmu "Addictos" dalībnieks. „Addictos” tika dibināts 1995. gadā un es biju starp dibinātājiem,  bet es pametu grupu 1998. gadā, jo biju noguris no šoviem, skatuves un atbildības. Tas bija pārāk grūti priekš manis, jo es vēlējos dejot savam priekam, nevis darīt to kā darbu. Bez tam bija arī citi iemesli, kā piemēram manas attiecības ar grupas dalībniekiem. Man ir 30, bet viņiem ap 20,  un šī paaudžu atšķirība nebija vienkārša. Tagad mēs visi esam labi draugi, jo starp mums vairs nav nekādu savstarpējas atbildības vai pienākumu attiecību. Es sāku breikot 1984 gadā, 13 gadu vecumā, kad biju brīvdienās Argentīnā (esmu tur dzimis). Tur un Brazīlijā  es pirmo reizi satiku b-boys. Но каково было моё удивление, когда я узнал, что таких в Латвии, оказалось немало.
Время шло уровень, и интерес со стороны окружающих рос и из обыкновенных картинок, граффити превратилось в образ жизни, в неотъемлемую часть жизни города. И вот сегодня мне представилась возможность взять интервью, на мой взгляд, у лучшего граффитчика Латвии – ЭЛЕМЕНТА.

Atceros, ka braucot ar 15. trolejbusu no centra puses, tajā laikā es vēl aktīvi skeitoju, acis šaudījās visur meklējot jaunus skeitspotus. Tad arī ievēroju tādu ko Rīga vēl nebija pieredzējusi. Gandrīz visur kur skatījos kāds bija atstājis
parakstu T16.

Man sanāk, ka visi jautājumi ir pagātnes formā, tu neiebilsti?
Pohuj nē. Nav viss tā kā agrāk. Agrāk trakāks biju.

Sāku ar tagu T16 apmēram 2002.

Kā tev ienāca doma galvā, ka tu gribi nevis zīmēt pieces ik pa retam, kā tas bija pieņemts tajā laikā, bet tagot… visur!
Pieces es nemācēju zīmēt - vispār zīmēt nemācēju. Izlasīju graffiti vēsturi un sāku tagot kopā ar Ru.15 un Tks2.

Jums ir/bija savs tuss, UA. Kas bija tā sastāvā, pastāsti par to.
UA agrāk bija T16, Tks2, Mice un Ru15 - bija doma, ka UA nebūs tikai grafiti crew, bet arī mūzika, bet sanāca laikam, ka tikai graffiti un ar mūziku tur nebija nekāda sakara! Tase: Mēs ar ynk aizgājām skatīties sienu blakus Hanzas vidusskolai; skatījāmies zīmējumus un mums pienāca klāt cilvēks, kas jautāja vai mēs nezīmējam graffiti. Mēs atbildējām, ka zīmējam, lai gan patiesībā vēl ne reizi nebijām krāsojuši. Šis cilvēks piedāvāja apzīmēt izmēģinājuma telpu kādai punk rock grupai. Divas nedēļas skicējām, tad pirmo reizi izgājām krāsot ārā, uz sienas… Un tad aiziet! Neiztika bez humora – rock grupas mēģinājuma telpa, bet ynk uz sienas uzrakstīja „grave”, es uzkrāsoju „3cky”, kas bija mans pirmais vārds, ko rakstīju uz sienas.
